We’re so excited to announce 3 brilliant additions to the already epic Team Legend!
Teenage Cancer Trust ambassador Jane Sutton, singer and TV presenter Rochelle Humes, and Underworld’s Darren Emerson are joining the legends running the Virgin Money London Marathon for Teenage Cancer Trust.
It will be Jane Sutton’s second London Marathon; in 2014 she made a promise to her son Stephen, that she would take part. The following year, after Stephen passed away, she ran her first Virgin Money London Marathon. On running with Team Legend in 2018, Jane said:
“I’m thrilled to be returning to participate in my second Virgin Money London Marathon in April 2018. My son Stephen Sutton’s cancer journey may have ended in May 2014 but the treatment, care and support offered by Teenage Cancer Trust, enabled Stephen to maximise the time he had available once his cancer was diagnosed as incurable and crucially share his experience with people of his own age.
“If you have been fortunate enough to secure a place in the 2018 Virgin Money London Marathon and have yet to select a charity to support, can I urge you to consider choosing Teenage Cancer Trust?
“Despite Stephen’s phenomenal fundraising total, which now stands in excess of £5.6 million, Teenage Cancer Trust still needs your support, for every young person they reach, there’s another they can’t.
“With your support, the charity can achieve its objective of supporting every young person through their own cancer journey.”
"It's my very first London Marathon, what could be better than running with Team Legend?! It's going to be a memorable (and emotional!) experience, which I’m really looking forward to.”"
Music producer and Underworld’s Darren Emerson said, “Teenage Cancer Trust is such a fantastic and worthy cause, and I'm sure you'll agree, the kids I'll be running for are the real legends. I’m really looking forward to drumming up the support for Team Legend!”
